Funds raised from the 26.2 with Donna The National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer will go directly to The Donna Hicken Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to funding the critical needs of underserved women with breast cancer.

While a portion of the proceeds will be used by the Donna Hicken Foundation for the care of these survivors in need, the Foundation has pledge to donate the majority of funds raised to Mayo Clinic for laboratory research and clinical trials to help eradicate breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Local Fundraising Award
Sponsored by Regions Bank

The local runner who raises the most funds to fight breast cancer will receive a unique sculpture entitled Grace by David Bryce

Artist David Bryce
David Bryce draws with clay. In his figurative sculpture and in his narrative incised panels, he molds and marks the clay, creating sometimes serene, sometimes playful figures, suspended in an eternal moment of joy or contemplation. The pieces express a simple and familiar action- stirring a pot, offering a bowl, striking a note- but Bryce always imbues the movement with a feeling of stillness. With a calligraphic stroke, or the folds of ribbons of clay, he captures his robed figures at their daily tasks, and captures our hearts as well. His work makes us smile.

David Bryce was educated at the University of Pennsylvania, and subsequently completed his MFA at the Queens College of the City University of New York. He has been a featured artist in numerous galleries and exhibitions, including the Brooklyn Museum Community Gallery, Nassau County Museum of Fine Arts, the New York Museum, and the Museum of Art (Munson-Williams Proctor Institute). He is currently living in the Berkshires in Massachusetts with his wife and their two children.

The sculpture will be on display at the Health and Fitness Expo on Friday, February 15 – Saturday, February 16.

Special thanks to Fogle Fine Art & Accessories for acquiring this unique art piece.
