The 26.2 With Donna Marathon Relay

Registration is open and will be limited to the first 250 teams to register.

  • Team of 5: Entry by 10/31/11: $250
  • Team of 5: Entry 11/01/11 - 2/12/12: $300
  • Team of 5: Danny Brown High School Challenge: $50

The 5-person Marathon Relay will Start at 6:30 a.m.

Packet Pick-up:
The Marathon Relay Team packets will be distributed at the 26.2 With Donna Health & Fitness Expo presented by Eisai and will contain all materials and supplies for each of the runners on the team. The team captain is responsible for picking up the race packet and distributing the materials to the team. All team members are encouraged to visit the 26.2 With Donna Health & Fitness Expo presented by Eisai.

Please note: Each relay packet contains your official 26.2 with Donna relay baton. Each runner in the relay must pass the baton to the next runner at the end of his or her leg to be timed. If you do not have the baton, your time will not be recorded.

At the Start:
Plan to arrive to the Celgene Start/Finish Line at Mayo Clinic by 5:30 a.m. for Leg 1. Please use race day transportation shuttles, as parking is not available at the race start. Leg 1 runners start at the same time as marathon and half marathon participants-6:30 a.m. There is not a separate start for the Relay Teams. Legs 2, 3, 4 and 5 relay runners will be bused to their respective exchange zones.
Legs 2, 3, 4 and 5 should report to the relay bus loading area in Lot B, located across from the Winn-Dixie Runners’ Village, at least 2 hours before you need to be at your exchange point. Volunteers will direct runners to the buses.

Relay Shuttle Departure Times:
Please note: runners may have a short wait at each relay exchange zone for their team members to cross.
Buses for Legs 2-5 will depart from Mayo Clinic starting at 5:45 a.m. until 9 a.m. in 15 minute increments.

Relay Exchange Zones
Completing Your Leg:

Each relay exchange zone will provide water, Gatorade, and fruit for runners. When relay runners have completed their leg of the race, they will be bused to the Celgene Start/Finish Line. All relay runners returning from the exchanges will be allowed in the Winn-Dixie Runners’ Village near the finish line for food, beverages and celebration. Relay runners are also encouraged to visit our Relay Reunite area located on San Pablo less than a mile from the start finish line. There runners can enjoy refreshments, while they wait for their team mates to join them. Once everyone is back together runners can cross the finish line as a team.

5-person Marathon Relay Legs

  • Leg 1: (5 miles) Miles 1 – 5, Leg 1 will take from the start line at the Mayo campus over the Intracoastal waterway into Jacksonville Beach.
  • Leg 2: (5 miles) Miles 5 – 10, A 2.5 mile stretch of leg 2 will detour onto the beautiful hard- packed sand of this Florida coastline, which is perfect for running. This leg will also run past the Jacksonville Beach Pier, into Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach Town Center.
  • Leg 3: (5 miles) Miles 10 -15, Leg 3 will stroll through the distinctive, shaded and well-spirited community of Atlantic Beach.
  • Leg 4: (5 miles) Miles 15-20, Leg 4 will get it all! This leg will meander through the unique beach communities of Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and Jacksonville Beach.
  • Leg 5: (6.2 miles) Miles 20 – 26.2, Leg 5 will start at the Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach and will make their way over the Intracoastal waterway bridge to the Finish Line – Mile 26.2!!
Danny Brown High School Challenge

Dan Brown, “Danny” to his friends, was a much loved and respected teacher and track coach at both Bishop Kenny and John J. Snyder High Schools in Jacksonville, Florida. He made character the cornerstone for all he did on and off the track. He loved each of the kids he coached like they were his own. He brought out the best in everyone he touched. The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer is honored to name its High School Challenge in honor of Danny Brown. The Danny Brown cup will be bestowed on the fasted high school relay team to enter the race. Learn more.

Congratulations to Bishop Kenny High School Team "3 Guys and 2 Davids" for earning the 2011 Danny Brown cup with a time of 3:06:53.
