Weather

Race meteorologist and marathoner Tim Deegan will be tracking race weekend weather. Please check back daily for updates.

Have weather questions? Ask Meteorologist Tim Deegan. Tim has been forecasting weather in Jacksonville area for almost 25 years and is an avid marathon runner!

The third annual race date is February 21, 2010. This is traditionally a time for ideal running weather in north Florida. Here are some comparative temperatures in other marathon cities, on their race weekends:

Jacksonville in mid February: 45 low/ 68 high
Miami: 60 low/ 77 high.
New York City Marathon: 47 low/ 60 high
Chicago Marathon: 44 low/ 65 high

Some runners truly need to escape to sunny Florida.

“I plan to run again this year. It is an honor to be a small part of such a beautiful thing. From organizers to contributors to runners to supporters and one mighty little ladies vision…we come together and celebrate life and do our part to see that cancer doesn’t win! And to remember the heroes. Their sacrifice gave way to better treatment, new research and one day a cure. This next February once again I will run for life because I can.”
