Hello Everyone!
It’s been an interesting few weeks in my household. After a careful review of my family history, and the circumstances surrounding my own diagnosis 12 years ago, I decided to have the genetic test for breast cancer. Turns out I am positive for the BRCA1 gene mutation, one of several known to cause breast cancer. Obviously this is very personal stuff and opens a whole new level of concern for me and my family, but I’ve decided to share it with you because it has once again served to give me a laser focus on why I wanted to start this marathon. I am more committed than ever to our work to end this disease, not just for my generation, but for the next one.

Why Fundraise? Incentives to Finish
Breast Cancer!
When every last penny of funds raised goes to cutting edge research at Mayo Clinic to study the genetic makeup of breast cancer cells and to helping those with breast cancer today with utility bills and mortgage payments, do we really need incentives? When you know that every dollar you raise will be matched by the wonderful Weaver Family Foundation, are incentives really needed? Well of course! We love each and every one of you who choose to fundraise and want to honor you for your efforts.
