26.2 with Donna - The National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer
Second Annual 26.2 with Donna February 15, 2009 - November 2008 / Issue Number 21
Donna Deegan Hello Everyone!

Greetings from the beautiful sun drenched beaches of Jacksonville, Florida. We are feeling a lovely blast of polar air right now. In fact these are some of the coldest temperatures we have ever seen in November, but the skies are blue for as far as the eye can see so I’m not complaining (at least not much ). Just gives me a rare chance to sport my long sleeved 2008 finisher shirt!

We are less than 90 days away from welcoming all of you back to our little piece of paradise and we couldn’t be more excited about our 2009 event! We had an amazing October registration, doubling our October numbers from last year!! If you haven’t joined us yet, what are you waiting for?? Don’t miss out on the biggest beach party around and one that is helping us to FINISH BREAST CANCER!

Galloway TrainingIt is a familiar story. A breast lump is discovered while showering, and it was assumed to be just another harmless fatty cyst – others had been found in the past. But given a family history of cancer, this lump was biopsied and turned out to be cancerous.

The MAGIC MILE (MM) Predicts Long Run Pace & Marathon Pace
People RunningTraining for a race such as the BCM Half or Full Marathon can be an extremely rewarding experience. Some runners, however, get a bit too motivated and run faster on training runs, and in the first part of their race, than they are able. This often results in burnout or injury.
