The Research Behind the Race
Research Update Thousands are lacing up their sneakers for the fifth annual 26.2 with Donna The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer. It is the only marathon in the country where all of the race proceeds and donated funds go to breast cancer research and care for those with the disease. Mayo Clinic receives 70 percent of the funds. In the past four years, almost $1.2 million has been contributed to the clinic, which has helped establish the Mayo Clinic Breast Cancer Translational Genomics Program.

Your Race Day Checklist
Your Race Day Checklist Don't eat too much the night before. After 2p.m., eat snacks that digest easily and don't have a lot of bulk. Pack your bag and check it twice. Use the checklists at the bottom of this page and include anything else that you need. Avoid alcohol the night before. Drink about 20-30 oz of electrolyte beverages the day before, and an additional 4-5 glasses of water spread throughout the day.

Runner Information
Runner Information Before the race, all participants may check in their warm up/post-race gear at the Winn-Dixie Runners' Village Gear Check Tent sponsored by Genentech. Securely fasten your gear check tag from your race bib to the outside of your bag. After the race, you will have until 2 p.m. to collect your bag. Any items not picked up will be kept for 30 days and then discarded. To retrieve items left after the marathon, please e-mail or call 904-355-PINK (7465).

Marathon Relay The Marathon Relay Team packets will be distributed at the 26.2 with Donna Health & Fitness Expo presented by Eisai and will contain all materials and supplies for each of the runners on the team. The team captain, or other team member, is responsible for picking up the race packet and distributing the materials to the team. All team members are encouraged to visit the 26.2 with Donna Health & Fitness Expo presented by Eisai.

She shared some great tips for marathon nutrition and helped shed light on a couple topics near and dear to our stomachs — er, hearts.

Support the Marathon High Students on Race Day
Marathon High We are proud to have 100 high school students from the Jacksonville area join us on race day to complete their first half marathon. It is part of a new program called Marathon High, which offers a free afterschool training and mentoring program to teens to help them get healthy while building their self-esteem, confidence and empowerment. Look for the students out there on race day and please tell them "Great job!" They will be wearing bright orange shirts, so you can't miss them!

Online registration will close Wednesday, 2/8 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Registration is available at the Health & Fitness Expo.
Race Day Transportation Reminder

There is no race day parking on San Pablo Road, at the start line or on the Mayo Campus. All participants and spectators should take advantage of race-provided bus transportation. The race starts at 6:30 a.m. Participants must be on a race shuttle bus before 5:30 a.m. to arrive at the start/finish by race start. Read more
