Race Day Runner Services and Course Entertainment
You have trained, your travel is booked, you mapped out how to get to the Health & Fitness Expo for packet pick-up, and you have identified a shuttle to get to the starting line. Let the FUN BEGIN!
You can expect premiere race day services from our race team starting with Runner’s Village which opens at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday. In Runner’s Village, you will find our fast and friendly ‘Gear Check’, complimentary pre-race food and beverages, and plenty of restroom facilities. Ask anyone who participated last year, we are a ‘port-o-pottie abundant race’.
The Family Reunite Area is located just outside of Runner’s Village, and can be used not only to reunite with friends and family post-race, but as a great place to meet your running buddies before the race. Alphabetically posted signs will divide the family reunite area, so pick a letter and share with family and friends.
7:30 a.m. is the gun time for both the Marathon and Half Marathon events. You will immediately take in one of the best views of our course as you go over the intracoastal bridge to the beaches. As our famous race shirt says, “It’s not a Bridge, It’s a View!” We have a lot of fun and surprises as you make your way to finish 13.1 or 26.2 miles. Some of the area’s hottest bands will be placed at strategic locations along the race route, and look for our special Memorial Mile where we will honor those who we run for. Get ready to experience a range of emotions as the Jacksonville community cheers for you along the way, and thanks you for your part in supporting our cause to finish breast cancer.
Medical support is available and ready to assist you in many locations. Medical staff will be wearing bright RED medical team tshirts. Please provide medical and emergency contact information on the back of your race number.
As you cross the finish line, please make your way to the Family Reunite area to meet family and friends. Our post-race celebration will feature entertainment by George Aspinall, free wireless internet, a large screen to watch the race live, souvenir sales and much more! Runners will be provided two free beverages, and other food and beverages will be available for sale. The awards presentation will begin at noon, so plan to stick around and celebrate your achievement with us!
