October 2009 Letter From Donna
Hello Everyone!
It’s an exciting time for 26.2 with Donna for so many reasons. Thanks to all of you, we are getting some great national publicity for the race.
Check out the October 17th Family Circle magazine (page 58). You can be proud that you have played a huge role in helping to put The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer on the national map.
Registration is triple this year what it was last year at this time, and we are adding even more great events to get as many people involved in our efforts to “Finish it” as possible. In addition to the five person relay, this year we are adding a Family Fun Run to the mix. It will be held the Saturday before the race. Next month we have two great ways to connect with the cause. Bike 26.2 with Donna will be held Sunday November 15th, and then The Players 5k with Donna will be held November 28 is the beginning of what I hope will be a long and gratifying relationship with The Players Championship. You can read more about all of the events in this newsletter!
Finally, I have a new book out, which chronicles my journey along with the development of the marathon. It’s called Through Rose Colored Glasses, A Marathon From Fear to Love. There are some great pictures from the race in the book as well. Proceeds will help the race foundation and get us closer to what we all want. A cure! Seize the Day!
