Countdown to February 13, 2011:

December Letter from Donna

Hello Galloway Subscribers!

My name is Donna Deegan, and in partnership with Jeff Galloway, I am coordinating the only marathon in the U.S. dedicated solely to raising funds to end breast cancer – 26.2 with Donna The National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer.  In our Inaugural Year last February, we welcomed more than 7,000 runners and raised over $800,000 for breast cancer research and care.  The 2nd Annual National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer is almost here, and we hope all of you will consider joining us on February 15, 2009 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.  For more information, please visit http://www.breastcancermarathon.com.

Like many of you, we’ve been training for months and now it’s time for the big payoff!

We are only two months away from our 2nd Annual National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer and we have a great party planned to welcome many of you back to Jacksonville!!

Jeff Galloway, our fearless leader, will be here to kick off the festivities with a pep rally at the Jacksonville Landing just for Galloway members complete with a band. The Landing is right next the Hyatt on the river where most of you are staying.

If you haven’t registered for the race, we have a special rate just for you, and if you sign up by the end of the month, we’ll send you a signed 2009 marathon poster, a value of 25 dollars.  If you voted in the poster contest, you’ll remember the image.  It’s the unforgettable view of thousands of us streaming over the bridge to the beach at the start of the race.

Those of you who joined us last year, no doubt remember the spirit on the course.  It was one of the most heart warming experiences of my life and I know many of you felt that way too.
Help us make this year’s race even better by joining us right here in Jacksonville Beach!

I look forward to seeing you in February!

Donna

"I (like so many) have lost friends and relatives to cancer, and feel your race is one of the most positive and poignant reminders that no one is alone in their fight. As a male runner I was also pleased to see three young ladies wearing T-shirts with ‘men get it too’ on their backs."
