2010 Race Day Services
Part of our mission is to produce world class running events. This is your race, and we want this experience to be like none other. We can’t run the race for you, but we can sure provide you with everything you need to make race day a great day.
Your race day experience begins in Runners’ Village. As you step off our complimentary shuttle Sunday morning, there are a variety of services available to you. Runners’ Village is open to race participants only.
Gear Check
Before the race, all participants may check in their warm up/post-race gear at the Runners’ Village Gear Check Tent presented by Genentech. Please use the runner’s bag provided at the Expo as your gear check bag. Securely fasten your gear check tag from your race bib to the outside of the gear check bag. After the race, you will have until 3:00 p.m. to collect your bag. Any items not picked up will be kept for 30 days and then appropriately discarded or donated. To retrieve items left after the marathon, please email .
Food, Beverage and More
Pre- and post race food and beverages will be available. Runners are encouraged to visit the Winn-Dixie Fruit Tent for complimentary bananas and oranges. Runners will also have the convenience of visiting information, sponsor and marketing booths located inside Runners’ Village before and after the race. Portable restrooms will be available throughout the Runners’ Village.
Massage Therapy
Massage treatments will be available inside Runners’ Village. Feel free to take advantage of the complimentary treatments post race.
Medical Support
Medical support will be available and ready to assist you in several different locations. Medical staff will be wearing bright RED Medical Team t-shirts. Their support includes first aid and ice bags. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department and the Jacksonville Beach Fire and Rescue Department will provide medical support on bike teams and MERV units along the race route.
Note: Please provide medical and emergency contact information on the back of your running number.
Family Reunite Area
The Family Reunite Area is open to the public. Plan to reunite with family or fellow runners at the Family Reunite Area. Alphabetically posted signs will divide the Family Reunite Area and allow friends and family members to establish an exact meeting place after the race. Discuss this area with friends and family prior to the race. Remember, it may take the marathon participant 30-45 minutes to make it through the finish area, pick up gear and get to the Family Reunite Area. Be sure to plan accordingly.
Post Race Celebration
The Post Race Celebration is located in the Family Reunite Area and is open to participants as well as their friends and family. Runners will be provided with two complimentary beverages, while other food and beverages will be available for sale. The Post Race Celebration will feature a jumbotron with real time race results, sampling by Smoothie King, Cabot Cheese and Activwater. Complimentary coffee and tea will be provided courtesy of Coffee Perks and make sure to visit the Jet Blue Snack Tent for free munchies. Bring your laptop and keep track of the race through free wireless internet service provided by Clearwire.
Lost and Found
The 26.2 with Donna will operate a lost and found booth for lost children and items during the event at the Information Booth located in the Family Reunite Area. Anyone in need of locating the booth should ask the nearest police officer or event personnel where it is located. At the conclusion of the race events, any unclaimed lost items (i.e. keys, credit cards etc.) will be brought to the 26.2 with Donna Office at 2107 Mango Place. To retrieve items after February 21, call 904-355-PINK or email .
Spectator Stands
Spectators may enjoy the race from stands placed at San Pablo near JTB and at the Start/Finish line. There is no better way to watch thousands finish breast cancer.
Runner Tracking
Runner Tracking will be available again this year. Spectators will be able to track a runner online, or sign-up to receive text messages as runners reach key points along the race route. Links will be available on the BreastCancerMarathon.com homepage in the days leading up to race day.
