Story Angles
Share 26.2 with Donna stories of love, hope and support with your audience. Below are some story angles to get you started.
Love Over Fear
In a social climate where fear is often used to motivate a reaction, 26.2 with Donna celebrates its message that we will finish breast cancer together through hope and love.
“Why I’m Running” (Participant Stories)
“Shortly after Mom passed away from breast cancer, a picture of my sister and me showed up in a 26.2 with Donna ad. We joked, ‘That is just Mom up there, giving us a SIGN we are meant to run this race.’” - Alisha F. Saulsbury, 2012 Full Marathon Runner
How it all Began
Three-time breast cancer survivor Donna Deegan and her Mayo Clinic physician, Edith Perez, M.D. discussed over coffee their shared passions – running and breast cancer treatment, and they realized the two could go hand-in-hand or perhaps they could run alongside each other.
Funding Critical Breast Cancer Research
26.2 with Donna has contributed more than $1 million to Mayo Clinic and the funds have been focused to create a state-of-the-art Breast Cancer Translational Genomics Program. Research currently being conducted will lead to new biomarkers and treatments.
Galloway Marathon Training
The achievement of completing a marathon/half marathon training program and finishing this meaningful event is one you will treasure for the rest of your life.
Running for Someone Special
Friends and family members are inspired each day by loved ones who are cancer survivors. As those closest to us maintain positive outlooks while braving the nightmares of this disease, participating is a beautiful way to honor them through their journeys.
Unrivaled Medical Support
When choosing a marathon, what medical support should you look for? 26.2 with Donna has staged the marathon event at Mayo Clinic since the inaugural year, providing the advanced support that marathon athletes need.
