Tim Deegan

Chief Meteorologist at First Coast News

Tim Deegan is the Chief Meteorologist at First Coast News, providing the weather forecasts on the 5:00pm, 5:30pm, 6:00pm and 11:00pm weekday newscasts. Tim is a graduate of Texas A&M University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society and carries that groups important seal of approval.

Prior to coming to First Coast News, Tim had worked at KRIS in Corpus Christi, TX and KBTX in Bryan, TX. Tim is well known for his community involvement and especially for his interest in teaching kids about meteorology. In fact, Tim averages one school visit per week. He shares real-life stories with children such as the time he flew with the "hurricane hunters" into the eye of the most powerful Atlantic hurricane on record, Hurricane Gilbert.

Tim has three daughters and is married to First Coast News anchor Donna Hicken. He works with many charitable organizations including fundraising for the American Lung Association. Tim is an avid surfer, marathoner and skygazer.
